Aponeurectomy (Dupuytren’s contracture)
Dupuytren's contracture treatment is assigned when painful bumps (nodules) under the skin appear. They develop into tight bands of tissue and cause fingers to curl.
Surgery for Dupuytren's contracture divides or removes the thickened bands to help restore finger motion. Aponeurectomy is performed under local anesthesia and takes about an hour. The surgery does not require an overnight clinic stay and there are no travelling restrictions.
